This year saw the Fire Inspection and Fire Safety Education students take part in Fanshawe College's 13th Annual MCI/Trauma & Treatment - Fall 2018.

Students and program volunteers took part in a scenario designed to challenge and enhance our students' learning.  A medical call scenario was set up that involved a hoarder situation at the scene.  Students were able to observe Fanshawe Paramedic Students respond with a London Fire Service crew and work the scene.  The students then interacted with London Fire and proceeded to simulate their response to this hoarding.

Students had two evolutions through the scene and received valuable experience in the complex nature of this kind of scenario - from interacting with other agencies, suppression crews and working in a potentially hazardous and uncomfortable location.

Personally I derived great value from watching the students learn from a variety of resources and really begin to see the field they are entering and applying their learning.

A great way to spend a weekend enhancing learning and looking forward to continuing to participate in this great event here on campus at Fanshawe College
